Brocade MLX Series
The NetIron MLX Series of switching routers are designed for cost effective high performance metro applications, Internet edge/aggregation applications, as well as high end enterprise backbones. Each NetIron MLX switching router offers hardware based advanced layer-2 switching capabilities as well as IPv4, IPv6, and MPLS routing.
Each Brocade MLX router has a base system which includes the chassis with redundant fans and fan controllers, one management module, and a number of switch fabrics and power supplies (chassis dependent) required to support a fully loaded system. Customers can optionally add components (management, switch fabric, power supplies) to the system for redundancy and high availability.

NetIron MLXe System and Options
The Brocade® MLX Series of highperformance routers, which includes existing Brocade MLX Routers and new Brocade MLXe Core Routers, is designed to meet these requirements and many others. The Brocade MLXe routers provide several enhancements to the product family,including rear exhaust for all chassis, timing capabilities for future applications, and higher slot capacity. They also support existing Brocade NetIron® XMR management and line modules, providing additional scaling capabilities.
