Although Brocade Communications (BRCD) quietly released the anxiously-awaited NetIron CER 2000 Router with built-in 4x 10GbE ports, Terabit Systems is excited to offer this midrange router product at an attractive price-point as an alternative to Juniper’s highly-successful MX80 model. The base model features 24  RJ45 ports of 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet with 4 combination RJ45/SFP Gigabit Ethernet and 4 fixed-ports of 10Gigabit Ethernet SFP+.

The NetIron CER 2000 is available in eight models, including fiber and copper configurations, with the base model BR-CER-2024C-4X-RT-AC staring at an attractive MSRP of US $29,995.

According to Brocade’s latest press release on the product, key features include:

·         1.5M IPv4, 256K IPv6 and 128K MAC

·         Increase 10GbE capacity for SP and Enterprise MPLS applications ; 4X10GbE ports with no expansion module required

·         N+1 redundant, replaceable cooling system

·         “Hybrid port mode” allowing OpenFlow (SDN) and traditional IPv4/IPv6 features enabled concurrently on same MLXe router ports
